PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate addition of a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone to a system without deteriorating the data transmission performance between a computer workstation and a network. SOLUTION: In a network extender module 6 for connecting a VOIP phone 1 and a computer workstation 2 to a network 3, MACs (Media Access Controllers) 7, 8 respectively control a data flow to the network 3 and the computer workstation 2. Buffer managers 9, 10 respectively control traffic between the network 3 and the VOIP phone 1 and between the computer workstation 2 and the VOIP phone 1. FIFOs 11 to 16 adjust an associated data flow between the MACs 7, 8 and the buffer managers 9, 10.
