PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage device capable of easily controlling information while securing a degree of freedom of registering the information. SOLUTION: An operator makes the information including a standard character string or an optional character string (a nonstandard character string) by an information making part 3, and registers the information in a knowledge database 1. The character string registered in the knowledge database 1 is also registered in a character string control database 2 to be controlled. The controlled character string can be changed by a controller from a changing part 5, and can be easily executed on maintenance such as a change of the nonstandard character string to the standard character string, and can maintain retrieving accuracy. At retrieving time from a retrieving part 4, retrieval by a retrieving key can be executed on the standard character string similarly to conventional retrieval, and ambiguous retrieval can be executed without discriminating the standard character string and the nonstandard character string.
