The invention relates to an interference suppression method and device, in reception, for a wideband radio signal. The invention involves the use of spatial filtering taking into account different interfered versions of the signal delivered by parallel processing chains which are believed to have the same transfer function, such as, for example, the individual processing chains associated with the radiant elements of an array antenna that receives GPS navigation satellite signals. The inventive method consists in performing an automatic equalisation (4d) which reduces the disparities between the processing chains (2a to 2g) regardless of whether said disparities are original or due to drifts over time. Said automatic equalisation is performed at the outputs of the processing chains (2a to 2g) before the spatial interference suppression filtering (3) and it is carried out by means of a local test signal generator (5).
