摘要 <p>FIELD: forest planting. SUBSTANCE: procedure of quantitative evaluation of soil for forest growing includes establishment of index of forest productivity of root-holding layer, of index of stability of humidification of this layer by atmospheric precipitation and of complex index. Index of forest-productivity of root-holding layer is determined by ratio of minimal stock of soil moisture formed under close forest canopy in driest year to minimal moisture consumption by afforestation in vegetation period. Index of stability of humidification of root-holding layer is found by ratio of minimal stock of soil moisture to its maximal stock formed under close forest canopy in wettest year. Complex index is determined by geometric mean of these two indices. Procedure can be utilized in forestry, specifically, for evaluation of lands intended for continuous afforestation with inaccessible underground water and unstable atmospheric humidification. EFFECT: increased authenticity of evaluation of soil for growing particular species of trees.</p>
