PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a generated thumbnail image is distorted in order to appropriately expand an original image in the case the aspect ratio of the original image is not 4 to 3. SOLUTION: In converting 160×104 pixel image data into 160×120 pixel image data being a standard of thumbnail image data, 8×160 pixel image data formed with white direct current components are added to an upper part and a lower part of the 160×120 pixel image data. Thus, data setting of the image data to be added can be simplified and the load of post-processing can also be reduced because only direct current components are set.
