PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of surely detecting a commodity carried out to a commodity acceptor by using a photosensor even in the case of vending light-transmissive commodities. SOLUTION: The commodities inside a commodity bucket 40 are detected by first - third sensors 72, 73 and 74 composed of the photosensor, and the first and third sensors 72 and 74 are respectively provided on a height position close to a commodity mounting surface (an upper surface of a belt 62) inside the commodity bucket 40. Thus, since a bottom surface side of a side face of a beverage container such as a PET bottle like a commodity C is often formed in a rounded curved shape, even when it is the light-transmissive commodity such as mineral water put in a transparent PET bottle, detection light of the photosensor is refracted by the curved part and does not reach a light receiving part side of the sensor and the commodity is surely detected similarly to non-light-transmissive commodity.
