PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cross connect setting system by which an adverse effect does not occur in a cross connect setting in spite of the increase of the number of nodes. SOLUTION: A plurality of nodes from A21 to D24 are connected in a ring shape to organize a high-speed SDH network link. The respective nodes A21 to D24 are connected to a network management system (NMS) 25 for managing a cross connect processing. In the network system, the cross connect processing is set from the NMS 25 only to a transmission node of one of the nodes. The cross connect processing is performed to multiplex a low-speed signal with a high-speed signal in the transmission node and address information is added by an address information inserting part. Thus, a time for setting a pass route is shortened, only transmission node and channel information is required as management information for managing a plurality of pass routes and, then, an amount of data to be managed is reduced.
