PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature for rotating electric machine with enhanced cooling capability without forced increase in cooling air quantity, and a rotating electric machine. SOLUTION: In the armature 20 for rotating electric machine, wires 22 are wound on an armature core 21. The armature core 21 is provided with teeth 21a on which wires are wound. The teeth 21a are provided with heat radiating faces which penetrate the teeth in the axial direction.
