Flat pieces (2) are slidably mounted in guides (3, 5) in the functional part (1) whose access opening is being covered. The flat pieces are pivotally interconnected via articulated levers (6, 7) which ensure that the lower side of one flat piece is immediately opposing the upper side of the adjacent flat piece when the cover is in the open position. When the cover is in the closed position, the upper sides of the flat pieces all lie in the same plane and when the cover is in the open position, the upper sides of the flat pieces extend parallel to each other, approximately orthogonal to the closure plane.
