FIELD: poison- gas disposal. SUBSTANCE: industrial-scale process consists in interaction of lewisite with 0.1-10.0% excess of 20-40% sodium hydroxide solution at 90-110 C and atmosphere pressure followed by electrolysis of reaction mixture to release elementary arsenic and sodium hydroxide solution returned into lewisite interaction zone. EFFECT: ensured rapid and environmentally safe elimination of lewisite reserves in Russia and, in addition, reused elementary arsenic to reimburse lewisite destruction expenses. 2 ex
