The invention relates to vehicle garaging apparatus comprising upper and lower platforms vertically spaced one above the other by support columns. The platforms are moved up and down by lifting apparatus such as a hydraulic scissor jack in a sunken pit. In a lower position of the platforms, the lower platform is within the pit while the upper platform is generally level with the ground around it. In an upper position, the lower platform is at ground level while the upper platform is above it. A vehicle may be parked on the lower platform and the platforms then lowered to store the vehicle. Meanwhile another vehicle can be parked on the upper platform and, if required, raised up on the upper platforms when the lower vehicle is to be retrieved. Moving platform extensions are provided at the edges of the lower platform to bridge any gap between that platform and the ground around the pit.
