PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record music to a cassette tape without any break of sound in switching from the side A to the side B and to reproduce pieces of music from an optical disk exactly in the order of those on a recording medium as to a device and a method for recording and reproduction, which record a plurality of pieces of music reproduced from the recording medium to the cassette and the optical disk. SOLUTION: By the method for reproducing the plurality of pieces of music from the recording medium 1 where the plurality of pieces of music are already recorded in order and recording them to the cassette tape 2 and optical disk 3 at the same time in synchronism with the reproduction, the plurality of pieces of music are recorded in the order of the pieces of music which can be recorded to the cassette tape 2 without changing from the side A to the side B and also recorded to the optical disk 3 in this order. On the optical disk 3, UTOC information is so recorded that the plurality of pieces of music which are recorded can be reproduced in the order of those recorded on the recording medium 1.
