<p>An 'activity'-based system (Figure 8) and method for on-line character recognition that requires reduced amounts of memory for code or data, is alphabet-independent, and can be trained by entering the alphabet once. The alphabet-independent nature of the algorithm, as well as the ease with which recognition may be optimized dynamically, makes it particularly well suited for writing in noisy environments or by persons with impaired motor skills or nervous conditions.</p> |
