PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system to assure that an electronic document printed is genuine. SOLUTION: The electronic document (original) is converted into printing data, which is further converted into display data with signature. The display data is protected to be manipulation-detectable, and original data for printing is formed. In a system on the printing side, genuineness of electronic data to be printed is examined by a genuineness examining means 21, and only the electronic data to which genuineness has been verified are printed as a genuine document 24 by a genuine document printing means 22 (special printing means for printing the electronic data as the genuine document). The printing data to which genuineness has not been verified are printed in a normal way as a general document 25 by a general document printing means 23.
