PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter with excellent performance adopting an automatic phase correction circuit and method for coping with a rapid phase change at transmission frequency switching or a phase change due to temperature fluctuations. SOLUTION: The automatic phase correction circuit where part of an output signal extracted from a power amplifier section is fed back via quadrature demodulator (DEMOD) 17 and a phase shifter 20 controls a phase amount of a local carrier in order to compensate nonlinear distortion in the power amplifier section in the case that an amplifier 11 amplifies a transmission signal resulting from the local carrier quadrately modulated by quadrature modulator (MOD) 7 and frequency-modulated with received base band I, Q signals in a transmitter or the like provided with the power amplifier section for amplifying transmission power, includes a phase correction circuit 21 that sets a phase amount of the local carrier through the revision of a transmission frequency from a CPU 22 or the like for controlling the transmitter and corrects the setting phase amount due to a temperature from a temperature sensor 23 in the transmitter. |
