PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change the reproduction speed of information recorded on an optical disk to a reproduction speed that a user desires. SOLUTION: An optical disk reproducing device which reproduces the information recorded on the optical disk changes the reproduction of the optical disk to double-speed fast-forward reproduction when a fast-forward key is operated during the normal reproduction of the optical disk, changes the reproduction of the optical disk to double-speed rewinding reproduction when a rewinding key is operated, and changes the reproduction speed of the fast-forward or rewinding reproduction of the optical disk to a reproduction speed specified with a numeral key when the numeral key is operated during the fast-forward or rewinding reproduction of the optical disk. When the fast-forward key is operated during the fast-forward reproduction of the optical disk or when the fast rewinding key is operated during the rewinding reproduction, the fast- forward or rewinding reproduction of the optical disk is put back to the normal reproduction in the forwarding direction.
