The present invention relates to an article inspection apparatus. The apparatus includes conveying means (6) for conveying an article (5) through an inspection site (I) and rotating the article (5) aboutan axis (F). The article (5) is viewed by an imaging system including a first and a second image capture means (1A, 1B) and a mirror arrangement (7, 8) that defines the field of view of said first andsecond image capture means (1A, 1B). The imaging system is arranged so that the first image capturemeans (1A) has a field of view including a top view and a first upper side view of an article (5) on said conveying means (6) and the second image capture means (1B) has a field of view including a top viewand second upper side view of said article (5), wherein said second upper side view opposes said firstupper side view. Multiple lanes arranged side by side may be provided and lighting that provides substantially uniform light over the article (5) is also provided.
