PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of restarting after half-finish of a batch job relative to a business database, while securing continuity of processing before and after the half-finish, as a batch processing system equipped with a recovery/restart function. SOLUTION: This system is constituted so that the progression state of the batch job relative to the business database DB by an application program AP, an input file FI and an output file FO is monitored and recorded by a check point table TB constituted as a database, and that the business database DB and the check point table TB are synchronously processed simultaneously. At the restart time after the half-finish, the job is started based on job progression management information recorded in the check point table TB.
