CONTROL METHOD OF DISK ARRAY DEVICE, AND DISK ARRAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve device throughput by improving using efficiency of an internal path without increasing the number of input/output ports of a switch and to facilitate the support of a host I/F having different performance, in a display array device of switch connection type. SOLUTION: Host interface parts 4 or disk interface parts 6 are connected to shared memory parts 7 through a switch part 8 one to one. The switch part 8 has more packet buffers comparing with the number of the connected host interface parts 4 or disk interface parts 6 and can always hold more access requests comparing with the number of the connected host interface parts 4 or disk interface parts 6. The packet buffers absorb speed difference between the host interface parts 4 and the shared memory parts 7 to allow the connection of host interface parts 4 having different performance.
