PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of achieving optimum disk transport corresponding to the dispersion of dimensions of disks held in a stock part. SOLUTION: A plurality of disk holders 41 are selectably housed in a stock part 3 and the disk is held in each disk holder 41. By clamping each disk by a guiding member 11 and a transport member 20, the diameter of each disk is measured. The measured value is stored in a memory 62, and when the disk is pulled out from the stock part 3, the facing interval of the guiding member 11 and the transport member 20 is changed corresponding to the information stored in the memory 62. Thus, an optimum carrying operation is performed at all times.
