Operation of vehicle heating and cooling circuit in conjunction with exhaust gas recycle system, controls exhaust enthalpy and coolant flow rates

Temperature measurement establishes the demand for heat recovery to the coolant from the exhaust gas recycle (EGR) cooler (3). Engine control is used to adjust the required exhaust gas enthalpy flow through the EGR cooler. Based on heat exchanger design, and a reduced coolant volumetric flow rate, the coolant undergoes a temperature reduction of 30 K, at least for an interval. An Independent claim is included for corresponding vehicle cooling and heating equipment.
