The envelope surrounding the insulating material, has a water vapor diffusion resistance (sd) which is a function of the ambient humidity. With a relative humidity gradient of 3-50% across the enveloping membrane, it exhibits an sd value of at least 0.8 m. With a relative humidity gradient of 50-93%, it exhibits an sd value of 0.3 m.
