Sealing element comprises two edge strips (10,20) with deformable, non-metallic connection strip (30) between them, in the form of self-supporting structure. A water impermeable, flexible cover film is applied to surface of edge strip and connection strip. The flexible cover film consists of e.g. a bitumen material. The edge strips are made of wood or wood replacement material, e.g. polyurethane and a hot adhesive.
