PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fuel composition which can be used in the internal combustion engines of the conventional vehicles as it is and, simultaneously, reduces environmental pollution. SOLUTION: The fuel composition comprises tert-butyl alcohol, diisopropyl ether, methyl tert-butyl ether and/or ethyl tert-butyl ether, and two or more hydrocarbon compounds. This fuel composition can be applied as it is without modifying a gasoline engine and, simultaneously, can decrease hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides in an exhaust gas.
