PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based pigment ink for ink-jet recording, free from the trouble of the separation of triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, the pigment component and glycerol even after the complete evaporation of water in the ink and the formation of aggregate and smoothly ejectable by ink-jet printing without causing the clogging at the tip end of the ink-jet head and provide a method for the ink-jet recording. SOLUTION: The water-based pigment ink for ink-jet recording contains carbon black or an organic pigment, glycerol, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether and a glycol ether having a solvent contact surface area of 0.90-1.15 nm<2> measured by COSMO solvation and a conformation forming heat of -711 to -941 kJ/mol measured by COSMO solvation. |
