PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain vehicle behavior for steering operation of a driver at a desired behavior in a motor-driven power steering device for an automobile in which steering operation is assisted by controlling an electric motor 22. SOLUTION: There are provided an assist control part 51 for multiplying a detection valueξwith a gain Ka to produce a controlled variable, a yaw rate feedback control part 52 for determining a controlled variable based on a deviation between a target yaw rate calculated from steering wheel torque u and an actual yaw rateψS, and a motor control part 53 for controlling an electric motor 22 according to a controlled variable which is a sum of the controlled variables. The motor control part 53 comprises a correction means 54 for correcting the motor controlled variable to compensate torque transmitted from a steering wheel 11 to a wheel 32.
