SPLITTER FOR MULTIPLE OPTICAL FIBER TAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple optical fiber tape splitter that prevents an optical fiber tape from shifting in a splitting operation, that facilitates positioning, and that enables an operator to perform the splitting operation with great efficiency. SOLUTION: This splitter shears between fibers by sliding at least one base while a multiple optical fiber tape is held between two bases. A groove with a uniform width for holding the multiple optical fiber tape is provided on the holding surface of the one base, while a groove having a constricted part for shearing and having a nonuniform width for holding the multiple optical fiber tape is provided on the holding surface of the other base.
