PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recording an image wherein stable output density can be achieved irrespective of variation in a size of a diameter of a dot and in an arrival position of a dot and a high quality image can be formed irrespective of variation in a size of a diameter of a dot or in an arrival position of a dot without deteriorating the graininess or emphasizing the edge. SOLUTION: A diameter D of a dot recorded on a recording medium M is set to be in a range of 1.5A<=D<=A+150 [μm] with the proviso that A represents max(Pm, Ps), Pm represents a recording pitch in a main scanning direction and Ps represents a recording pitch in a sub-scanning direction.
