PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem wherein an optical path becomes long and a device becomes large-sized when a transmission type exit pupil enlarging means is used. SOLUTION: A reflecting surface 105, an optical scanning means 103 which forms a two-dimensional image on a reflecting surface by making a scan with light, and an ocular optical system 107 for observing the two-dimensional image formed on the reflecting surface are provided and the direction of the normal of the reflecting surface is made different with positions on the reflecting surface so that the main reflection direction of light impinging on the reflecting surface from the optical scanning means is the direction to the ocular optical system irrelevantly to the incidence position.
