PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a norbornene polymer having excellent optical properties, heat resistance, and the affinity and adhesiveness with another material, having excellent chemical resistance and solvent resistance, and capable of being crosslinked without having the discoloring and deterioration of the resin, and a hydrogenated product of the same. SOLUTION: The norbornene ring-opened (co)polymer obtained by subjecting a specific silyl-having norbornene monomer 1 such as 5-(triethoxysilyl) bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene and another norbornene monomer 2 such as 8-methyl-8- methoxycarbonyltetracyclo[4.4.0.1<2> ,<5> .1<7> ,<10> ]-3-dodecene at a molar ratio of 100/0 to 1/99 to ring-opening polymerization, and having a weight-average molecular weight of 3,000-2,000,000 in terms of polystyrene. A hydrogenated product of the same.
