PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing such a situation that a part which is vulnerable to heat is prevented from being directly heated by heat radiation from a heat source by concentrically cooling only a part to be cooled. SOLUTION: This projector (1) having an illumination optical system (14) for radiating light from a projection lens (10) and a signal processing part (56) processing a signal to be inputted in the illumination optical system, is characterized in that it is provided with a 1st housing (2) for housing the illumination optical system and a 2nd housing (4) formed separately from the 1st housing and for housing the signal processing part.
