PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of particle size distribution capable of precisely determining the particle size of a measuring matter by image processing. SOLUTION: A gradation processing for setting the average luminance of pixels around a pixel every pixel of an original image to the luminance of the corresponding pixel is repeated in particle size selecting processing. The luminance level of the gradation image is adjusted (matched to the luminance level of the original image), and the difference from the original level is then determined, whereby only small particle size can be emphasized (large particle size and middle particle size can be cut). According to this, each particle size can be discriminated without being influenced by the luminance irregularity. The image sorted every particle size is binarized by use of a threshold corresponding to each size to obtain a binarized image, and the number of particles is counted every region (corresponding to particle size) from the binarized image and weight-converted, whereby a temporary particle size distribution is obtained.
