METHOD AND APPARATUS OF FILLING POWDER AND GRANULAR SUBSTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of filling a container with a powder and granular substance while the substance can be prevented from being blown out of the container to minimize the scattering to surroundings and a preferred apparatus for performing the method. SOLUTION: The method of filling a container 1 with a powder and granular substance via a chute 8d or 10 comprises steps of starting to feed the powder and granular substance with a leading end of the chute placed in the vicinity of a bottom of the container and separating the leading end of the chute from the container bottom as the container is filled. The apparatus comprises a base 4 on which the container is mounted, the chute which can feed the powder and granular substance to the inside of the container mounted on the base, and a base lift device 5 which can move the base up and down and/or a chute lift device 9 which can move the leading end of the chute up and down.
