PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gastric injury-preventing agent which exhibits an activity for inhibiting the proliferation of Helicobacter pylori that exaggerates gastric injury and enhances the recurrence rate of eh gastric injury, and an activity for suppressing active oxygen produced by the Helicobacter pylori and neutrophils. SOLUTION: This gastric injury-preventing agent contains as an active ingredient an ω-methylsulfinylalkyl isothiocyanate (the alkyl group has 4 to 8 carbon atoms) synthesized by a chemical synthesis method or obtained from a natural Cruciferous planet, and exhibits an anti-Helicobacter pylori activity and an active oxygen-suppressing activity to prevent the gastric injury.
