PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart an appropriate viscosity to be required in use without adversely affecting low temperature stability and skin irritation to a liquid detergent composition having an anionic surface active agent having no thickening effect by itself (a difficultly thickening anionic activator) as the active component. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition comprises 7-50 wt.%, based on the total composition, mixture of (A) a medium/long-chain alkyldimethylamine oxide type surface active agent, (B) a specified difficultly thickening anionic activator, and (C) an amidoamine type activator at a weight ratio of component (A) to component (B) of 10/90 to 80/20 and a weight ratio of [component (A) + component (B)] to component (C) of 100/1 to 100/40.
