PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein having disease resistance inducing activity derived from Pythium oligandrum cell wall, to provide a method for isolating and refining the protein, to provide a disease resistance inducing agent using the protein, and to provide a method for preventing soilborne disease using the agent. SOLUTION: This protein having disease inducing activity is obtained by subjecting the cell wall protein fraction of Pythium oligandrum to reversed phase chromatography.
