PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the stable rotation of a metallic sleeve by regulating the metallic sleeve in a thrust direction, to realize a quick starting and energy saving coping with the speeding-up of an image forming device and to prevent a slip phenomenon in a thermal fixing device equipped with a thin metallic sleeve. SOLUTION: This fixing device is equipped with a part where one part of a driving means provided in a fixed state at the end of the thin metallic sleeve whose thickness is 30 to 200μm is fit in a holding housing, and has a regulation means at one part of the driving means so as to regulate the movement of the metallic sleeve 13 and the driving means 16 in the thrust direction with respect to the holding housing. At the fitting part of the driving means with the metallic sleeve, a part separated from the inner surface of the metallic sleeve is provided at one part of a heater holding member, and the feed to the conductive heating resistance layer of the heater 11 is performed only from the end direction of the metallic sleeve which is not equipped with the driving means.
