PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonflammable aqueous cutting fluid composition which has good dispersibility of abrasive grains and no problem of flammability even when used in cutting processing of hard brittle materials, and is easy to wash with water. SOLUTION: The nonflammable aqueous cutting fluid composition comprises a polycarboxylic acid based polymeric compound having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-200,000 and/or its salt in an amount of 5-45 wt.%.
