PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate spring having an excellent anticorrosive property and a manufacturing method thereof, by forming a metallic film such as zinc on a base material surface without using an organic solvent, and overcoating with nonpolluting paint. SOLUTION: This plate spring has a metallic film such as zinc and/or zinc- based alloy formed on metallic base material by means of blasting or low temperature spraying, and a coat of nonpolluting paint such as powder paint or water paint. A mixture of zinc and/or zinc-based alloy and a blast member is sprayed to a metallic base material, or zinc and/or zinc-based alloy is sprayed to the metallic base material by means of low temperature spraying after surface treatment by shot peening to form a metallic coat. Powder paint or water paint is applied on the metallic coat.
