PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion valve inexpensive and excellent in assembling properties. SOLUTION: A valve part is constituted by a method wherein housings 4 and 5 of pressed articles of which the outside diameters are lessened sequentially are put on a lower housing 3 of a temperature sensing part. A load on a helical compression spring 17 urging a valve disk 16 in the direction of valve closure is regulated by a manner of bending of a spring support portion of a load regulating piece 19 formed integrally with the housing 5, and thereby an adjusting screw is dispensed with. Besides, the expansion valve is made small in size by shortening the dimension in the axial direction. Thereby the cost of the valve 1 can be reduced. By having a button shape, the expansion valve 1 is made easy to fit to a valve case integrated with an evaporator and assembling properties are improved.
