PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition which exhibits excellent performance of removing a fixing agent such as pitch, a protective film, and an adhesive to be used in the lens and prism production steps, is free of chlorine based solvents or the like which depletes the ozone layer, and has a reduced odor. SOLUTION: The detergent composition for the lens and prism production steps comprises (a) 2-25 wt.% one or more hydrocarbon based solvents to be selected from a paraffin, an isoparaffin, and a naphthene which have a boiling point of 150-250 deg.C, (b) 20-60 wt.% glycol based solvent of formula 1: R1 -(O- Cn H2n )m -O-R2 , and (c) 30-70 wt.% one or more aprotic polar solvents to be selected fromγ-butyrolactone, butyrolactam, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone,ε- caprolactam, pipecoline, and picoline.
