SWASH PLATE TYPE VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a low cost by simplifying a displacement control valve in a swash plate type variable displacement compressor in the form of varying a delivery displacement by varying a pressure in a swash plate chamber. SOLUTION: In the swash plate type variable displacement compressor, a part of fluid pressurized in a delivery chamber 28 is fed to the swash plate chamber 23 to impart a back pressure to a piston 7 and the back pressure is varied using the displacement control valve 29. A closing valve such as a two-way solenoid valve is merely used as the displacement control valve 29. If this closing valve is duty-controlled, a displacement of the compressor can be continuously varied. This compressor is used as a coolant compressor for a vehicle air conditioner and if it is constituted such that a displacement of the compressor is varied at least corresponding to an operation state of a vehicle or an engine by detecting torque of the compressor and interlocking a control device or the compressor with a control device for the vehicle or the engine, drivability of the vehicle air conditioner and a fuel consumption rate of the engine can be enhanced.
