PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulley for a continuously variable transmission, having high rigidity against driving force applied to the pulley, capable of reducing an axial dimension of a joining part of a pulley part and a shaft. SOLUTION: In this pulley, the steal shaft 1 is integrally formed with a flange part 2, and a back-side joining face 12a opposite to a belt contact face 11 of the pulley part 10 of a light alloy is joined to a joining face 2a of the flange part 2 by friction pressure welding.
