PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust system cooling device with a catalytic converter covered with an air cooling housing via a cooling air distribution void and cooling air supply means connected to the cooling air distribution void, with simpler, lighter and smaller construction for reducing the cost and improving the machining and assembling performance of the housing. SOLUTION: The cooling air supply means A consists of a radiator fan F and a duct D having an inlet Di facing to the downstream side of the fan F and an outlet Do opening to the cooling air distribution void S between the air cooling housing H and the catalyst converter C. The housing H has atmosphere opening portions Ho, Hs, Ha apart from the outlet Do of the duct D for escaping the cooling air introduced into the cooling air distribution void S to the atmosphere.
