A RAKE type Code Divisional Multiple Access (CDMA) receiver detects what kind of data is being transmitted via a parameter read by a CPU 7 situated after the RAKE combination 4a...4n. Multipath errors in video or image data are easily noticed, and so the number of fingers is maximised. Voice or text data need not be so free of delays, and the number of fingers can be reduced, with the timing generation section 2 only supplying clock signals to those selected finger sections. Battery life is thereby increased due to reduced power consumption. |
