BIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE OF MYCELIUM OF ANTRODIA CAMPHORATA, ITS COMPOSITIONAL SUBSTANCE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioactive substance of the mycelium of Kusunoki-take (Antrodia camphorata or A. cinnamomea) grown by the liquid culture of the mycelium of Kusunoki-take, a composition containing the bioactive substance and a method for producing the bioactive substance. SOLUTION: The bioactive substance composed mainly of polysaccharides is produced by the liquid culture of the mycelium of Kusunoki-take parasitic on the core of the stem of Cinnamomum kanehirae endemic to Formosa. The invention further provides the results of experiments on the immunoenhancing function, antitumor activity and antiparasitic property of the substance. A method for the production of the active substance and a composition containing the substance are also disclosed.
