PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position sensor capable of obtaining sufficient linearity of output for displacement without needing precise parts, assembling and temperature compensating. SOLUTION: The position sensor is provided with a detection coil 2 wound around a hollow winding frame 10, a metal body 1 displaced in the winding axis direction X of the detection coil 2 and penetrating a hollow part of the winding frame 10, a constant current circuit 3 for outputting constant current of a prescribed frequency and amplitude to the detection coil 2, and a signal processing circuit 4 for converting both end voltages of the detection coil 2 determined by the constant current output by the constant current circuit 3 and impedance of the detection coil 2 into a position signal indicating position information of the metal body 1 and the detection coil 2.
