PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus such as an image forming device with a sheet carrying device, avoiding impact sounds of transfer sheet edges hitting roller members of spitted-dumpling carrying rollers arranged in a carrier passage when transfer paper sheets are carried along the sheet carrier passage. SOLUTION: The sheet carrying device comprises two guide planes 25, 26 opposed to each other to form the carrier passage for carrying sheets, a pair of carrying rollers 12 arranged in position in the carrier passage for carrying the sheets being held between nip portions. Each carrying roller is the spitted- dumpling carrying roller which has a shaft 22 extending perpendicularly to the direction of carrying the sheets and a plurality of roller members 23 arranged as predetermined in the state of their shaft centers being supported by the shaft. One guide plane has a guide rib 30 protruded corresponding to the roller member of one carrying roller for guiding sheet ends to the nip portion of each carrying roller.
