PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock cylinder which is selectively applicable to different cases, i.e., which has its collar prevented from slipout so as not to be detached from an outer casing when the lock cylinder is mounted in a lock and a door, and renders the collar detachable from the outer casing when the lock cylinder is used singly. SOLUTION: The lock cylinder is formed of the outer casing 1, a plug 10, and the collar 20. The outer casing 1 has a slipout preventive member housing hole 4 on the periphery thereof at a location that is on a lower side when the lock cylinder is mounted on the lock case 40 and the door 41, and the slipout preventive member housing hole 4 houses therein a slipout preventive member 30 which is inserted thereinto from above the outer casing 1 when the slipout preventive member housing hole 4 assumes an upper position. In this condition, a male screw 3 of the outer casing 1 is screwed into a female screw 21 of the collar 20, and the outer casing 1 is rotated until the slipout preventive member housing hole 4 assumes a lower position. As a result, the slipout preventive member 30 protrudes from the slipout preventive member housing hole 4 due to its own weight, to thereby engages with an engaging portion 26 formed in the collar 20.
