PURPOSE: An apparatus for guiding the front end part of a material to be processed for rolling mill is provided in which sensor is installed at the inlet of the rolling mill to detect the material, and which guides the material so that the front end part of the material is accurately inserted into the rolling mill according to signals detected from the sensor. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for guiding the front end part of a material to be processed for rolling mill comprises a support bar(10) that is installed at the inlet of the rolling mill to support a guiding plate(9) for guiding a material to be processed; an ascending and descending member(15) that is installed at both sides of the support bar(10) so that the ascending and descending member(15) is ascended and descended by first cylinders(16); a support roll(19) that is installed on the upper part of one side of the guiding plate(9) so that the support roll(19) is ascended or descended by second cylinders(17) that are installed by means of a connection bar(16) installed on the upper part of the support bar(10); links(20) that are installed at both ends of the support roll(19) so that the links(20) are rotated as the ascending and descending member(15) is being ascended and descended; and a pressing roll(21) that is installed at the front end part of the links(20) to press the material to be processed.
